Terhi Pölkki AW18 Collection – trans-seasonal practicality with day-to-night style
Rain, wet snow, snow, crispy winter days and freezing wind. Nordic Winter has it all. Constantly changing weather in her mind Terhi Pölkki designed a collection with seasonless styles that allows an easy transition from Autumn to Winter and Spring. 
– In my childhood snow and frost used to be a rule rather than an exception but, now we are suddenly having winters when you never know how the weather will be. It might rain today and then freeze the streets as an ice rink tomorrow. Weather can really change overnight and it really demands a lot from shoes as well, Terhi tells.
As a Finnish shoe designer she must make shoes that adapt to the changing weather conditions. In Finland winter weather requires proper shoes and often practicality seams to rule over aesthetics. With her Terhi Pölkki AW18 collection she wanted to supply to this particular need in the market with beautiful yet practical shoes. In her new collection trans-seasonality, day-to-night style and comfort underpins a real sense of purpose.
The streamlined collection has been updated with new chunky heels, waterproof suede and waxed leather for winter styles. Retro square-toe heels together with block heel designs, creating a look that feels both ladylike and subversive. Along with the classics like Mila and Ola there are new edgy and fresh styles such as high-shafted boots and cowboy boot Dallas. Rugged rubber cleat units add weight to classic Ola boot. The sweet shades of raspberry and petrol together with black and cognac bring much awaited twist to the everyday shoes in this dark and wet season.

Vettä, räntää ja loskaa, lunta, jäätä ja liukkaita katuja. Suomalainen talvi vaatii kengiltä paljon, varsinkin jos haluaa samaan aikaan pysyä pystyssä, pitää jalat kuivina sekä lämpiminä ja vielä näyttääkin hyvältä. AW18-malliston kengillään Terhi Pölkki vastata tähän haasteeseen. – Suunnittelin syys-talvimallistoni kengät pohjoismaiseen keliin sopiviksi. Siispä ne ovat samaan aikaan sekä säänkestäviä, mukavia että tyylikkäitä, Terhi kuvailee. Hänen ideanaan oli luoda mallisto, jonka kengillä voi yhtä hyvin kävellä talviaamuna töihin tai mennä ravintolaan illalliselle. Terhin klassiset kengät haastavat myös perinteistä sesonkiajattelua. Terhi Pölkin syys-talvimalliston 2018 kengillä on nimittäin syksyn ja talven lisäksi ilo astella myös keväällä.
