Story |
Since launching in 2011, Helsinki-based shoe designer Terhi Pölkki has established her own shoe brand after graduating from Cordwainers at London College of Fashion in 2008. Terhi Pölkki’s style sums up the brand’s coveted aesthetic of minimalist luxury with a tough edge. The different surface structures combine matt and shiny materials. The end result is a collection of layered uppers with hand-stitched details. In 2014, Terhi Pölkki received the prestigious Best Accessory Designer award from ELLE Finland. Other honours include winning of Taito-Finlandia 2016 and The Young Shoe Designer of the Year 2008 in Finland. |

In response to the growing urban existence, Terhi Pölkki emphasizes craftsmanship, timelessness and environmental consciousness in her work.
Terhi chooses to reinvent design rather than constantly producing new items. All shoes are crafted out of high-quality and chrome-free leather materials. Terhi’s designs are carving out a new definition of sustainable luxury, refined craft.

Our shoes are manufactured within the European Union and the experienced factories in Portugal offer good work conditions for employees along with quality of craftsmanship. The shoe collection is made locally in a small, family-run factory in Sao Joao da Madeira, Portugal, using locally sourced components and vegetable tanned leather. Operating in a sustainable manner is an important principle for Terhi Pölkki’s brand. The collection
is made within a context that respects people and the environment.
