Maria is our design intern. She started her intership at Terhi Pölkki in January 2021. But now, let her tell about herself and her inspiration.

Hi Maria, tell us about yourself.
I moved a few years ago from Germany to study in Finland, I am a BA design student with major in footwear. Currently I am doing an internship at my Spring semester at Terhi Pölkki studio.

What inspires you at the moment?
I get inspired a lot by the nature and those daily things. I think at the moment it is really important to stay positive, to keep the eyes open and to get inspired by the little things around you.

What is a normal work day for you at Terhi Pölkki?
As a Intern every day is very different. I love getting known about the daily life as a shoe designer, all the little things this job is made of. Being able to see how things work and to learn about the whole process.

What’s your favourite piece from Terhi's collection?
My favourites are Phil sneaker, they are easy to style with every outfit and then of cause Sivi clogs in merino. I really like the wooden heels and they are definitely an eyecatchers.
